Here are some answers to questions you might have.
Q: Where do you practice?
A: Syston Scout Hall, Oxford Street Syston Leicestershire. On Wednesday evening from 7pm until 9pm (younger members start at 6.30pm and finish at 8:00pm)
Q: I can’t march or read music. Can I still join?
A: No problem! Every new member is given full tuition in music and drill by our friendly and experienced Instructors.
Q: How old do I have to be to join?
A: You are able to join if you are between the ages of 7 and 25. If you are “slightly” older, can play an instrument and would still like to get involved then contact the Bandmaster.
Q: Can I join if I don’t live in Syston?
A: Yes! So long as you can get to our practices and where a Syston Knecker while parading with the band.
Q: I’m not a member of the Syston Scouts or Guides. Can I join?
A: The short answer to that would be “YES!”. The slightly longer answer is that we are open to all members of the Scout or Guide Association.
Q: I’m not in the Scouts or Guides, will you let me join?
A: Yes, please come and speak to our Bandmaster or Training advisers for more details.
